Being Good At Emotional Wellness: How To Do It?



When it comes to being healthy, it does not only mean having a balanced diet or being physically active. There are actually eight dimensions of wellness and one of which is the emotional aspect. According to Jeff Gardere, PhD  “When you feel good about yourself, it’s much easier to cope with life’s little ups and downs as well as bigger events.” This involves having the ability to live a positive life and good mental health. It pertains to a state wherein you are at peace of yourself. There is a high level of emotional wellness once you become aware of your feelings and you know how to express different emotions. 

The question now is: How can you improve your emotional wellness? Here are some of the tips and tricks that can help you achieve this goal:



  1. Keep yourself away from stress.

Stress has a negative effect not only on your emotional wellbeing but also on physical wellness. As such, it is important to manage your stress. Do not let it take over your thoughts that might transform into certain actions. As much as possible, keep yourself away from the things that cause stress. This also applies to people who only send negative energies or vibes in your life.   1. Find balance in everything.

Too much of everything is absolutely unhealthy. This is why it is necessary to practice balance in all areas in your life. For example, learn how to master work-life balance. Find time to share quality time with your family and friends. Avoid becoming a workaholic as it can only make you feel exhausted. When this happens, you have lesser time to enjoy for special moments with loved ones.  


  1. Think of happy thoughts.

There are times when you start to entertain unnecessary negative thoughts in your mind. Try to give them an opportunity to help you in every way they can.

Sometimes, the frustrations that come in your life are caused by too many expectations. There is always a part of you who want to make everything perfect. Well, it’s time to break the news: nothing will ever be perfect in your life. Learn how to accept mistakes and move past it. These are completely inevitable as long as you live. Once you learn how to do it, you will slowly become a better person.
